Our Story
Having grown up just a couple of towns over from one another we were introduced through our mutual friend, the one and only Rick Bugel, in the fall of 2005. We formally met at a local watering hole which Mike's friends visited on occasion (aka every Friday and Saturday night), The Office, during a Yankee playoff game and bonded immediately through our mutual passion for our beloved Bronx Bombers. After a couple of years of dating we took a big step forward in our relationship by moving in together in Metuchen, NJ. Despite a drastic change from our previous living experiences, Sue leaving her parents' basement and Mike leaving Delta Upsilon part two on Rankin Ave in Cranford, from the beginning we could not have been happier living together and we knew that we wanted to spend the rest of our lives together. Mike officially popped the question in a well planned surprise in December of 2008. He threw out a 'red herring' by taking Sue on a romantic trip into Manhattan on a Saturday prior to Christmas, which included the Radio City Christmas special, a trip to the Met and dinner at Sparks. Despite some speculation that the big question would be dropped that evening Mike waited until the next day when we were decorating our Christmas tree (one of Sue's favorite events of the year). Although Sue was a little suspicious by Mike's out of character patience as she examined every tree in the lot that afternoon, she was still thoroughly surprised later that day when she found the ring disguised as an ornament in our Christmas decoration box. Since then we have been happily planning our big day and are excited for all of you to attend!
Our Wedding
Our ceremony will be held at 3:00pm at our parish, Saint Francis Cathedral located at 32 Elm Avenue Metuchen, NJ 08840. Their website is located at www.stfranciscathedral.org.
Our Reception
Our reception will be at 6:00pm and go to midnight at The Venetian which is located at 546 River Drive, Garfield, NJ 07026. Their website is located at www.thevenetiancatering.com. Bring your dancing shoes, drinking shoes, and appetites!
Travel Arrangements
We have secured group rates at the nearby Saddle Brook Marriott located off the Garden State Parkway at Interstate 80, for the night of our wedding. For your convenience we have setup a shuttle service both from the hotel to the Venetian prior to the reception and from the Venetian to the hotel after the reception, which we strongly encourage you to take advantage of. We invite all of our guests to continue fist-pumping and join us for an after party at the Saddle Pub Lounge in the hotel, which will remain open and hopping until 2:00am. A brunch will be provided by John and Linda Zitelli for all of our guests staying at the hotel the following morning.
The group rates will remain in effect until 3 weeks prior to our wedding. When making reservations please reference the Zitelli Ciacciarelli Wedding.
