SueAnne Metivier & Josh Walsh

Our Story

Josh and I first came together on January 1, 2002. It was New Year's Eve and my best friend, Jenn, was having a party. I just got out of work and the party was broken up before I could get there. So, her boyfried and his best friend, Josh, came and picked me up. We had a lot of fun that night, and from there it seemed Josh and I were destined to be together! Now we have been together for over 8 years! Josh and I were both very young when we met, so we were in no rush. Some would even say we did things quite backwards! We moved in together after three years, then Josh surprised me by proposing a year later. I woke up one morning to get ready for work and I noticed that Josh seemed to be up earlier than normal. I sat down to do my make-up and was speechless. There was a ring box with a note that said will you marry me on my vanity. I sat there for a few minutes and Josh came upstairs and said "Well?". I said " Of course!" and then unfortunately had to go to work. It turns out Josh had set it up the night before on my dresser and I completely missed it, so he had to wake up and move it. Only I could mess that up! I could not contain my excitement at work and luckily was able to come home early and share the news with everyone. We soon bought a house and now about four years later we are finally getting married. I know it took us a while, but we are ready now and can't wait to start our own family!

Our Wedding

Our ceremony will be held on the deck of The Village Inn overlooking Narragansett Beach at 3:30 p.m. We always wanted to get married on the beach and the view from their deck is absolutely beautiful! There is mandatory valet parking, so do not worry about finding a parking spot when you arrive. The attire is semi-formal, meaning you do not have to wear a tie. You may also want to keep in mind that the ceremony and cocktail hour is held outside and it may be hot as it is in August. We will be married by Reverend Michael Egan who we found to be a very down to earth guy and I am sure he will add some spark to the ceremony. My maid of honor is my sister Serena and Josh's best man is his brother Joe, who both have helped us so much with the wedding. The cocktail hour is immediately following the ceremony and will include red and white sangria ( on the house) and scrumptious h'orderves such as cocunut shrimp and bruschetta.

Our Reception

The reception is at 5:30 and will be held in the Grand Ballroom at the Village Inn. Hughie Cabana, Josh's uncle, will be our DJ and I am sure he will have many surprises in store for us. Dinner will start with a Caprese salad which is absolutely delcious. The main course will be both crab encrusted salmon and Tournedos of Beef Tenderloin with roasted seasonal vegetables and garlic rosemary roasted potatoes. For dessert we will have a strawberry cake with raspberry filling and for a special treat we will also have a gelato ice cream station. There will be six different flavors of gelato ranging from lemon to expresso chocolate. That is one of my favorite parts of the night! The reception is until 10:00 p.m which should give any one who has to work on Monday enough time to get some sleep. For those who are taking Monday out, I am sure you can find something to do, maybe go to the beach across the street :). Anyone who would like to stay at the Village Inn for the night, I would advise to make reservations ahead of time by calling. It seems you can not do it online. The number is 401-783-6767. We are going to have a blast and I can not wait to see all of you there!
